Piper Reviewing:

Evermore (Immortals Series #1)
By: Alyson Noël

Don’t miss Evermore, the first book in Alyson Noël’s #1 New York Times bestselling The Immortals series. Enter an enchanting new world where true love never dies. . .
After a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever Bloom can see people’s auras, hear their thoughts, and know someone’s entire life story by touching them. Going out of her way to avoid human contact and suppress her abilities, she has been branded a freak at her new high school—but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste.
Damen is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy. He’s the only one who can silence the noise and random energy in her head—wielding a magic so intense, it’s as though he can peer straight into her soul.  As Ever is drawn deeper into his enticing world of secrets and mystery, she’s left with more questions than answers. And she has no idea just who he really is—or what he is. The only thing she knows to be true is that she’s falling deeply and helplessly in love with him.

Review: First, I am going to start by saying how much I LOVE the name Ever!  If I ever have a child (girl obviously) I seriously would consider the name Ever.  It’s so soft and pretty, and different, and I have always been fond of different names!  Now, besides that, I thought the story was a bit slow at first; I really didn’t get into it until about 100 pages in.  However, once in it I loved it.  It wasn’t the type of book that I could re read and re read it over again, it wasn’t the type of book that I could talk about all the time.  It was the type of novel that I enjoyed a lot, I had a sort of peace while reading it.  It was a book that was simple, a book I liked a lot, and it was just me reading a book with the pure joy of being transformed into somebody else, someplace else.  I don’t know if that makes sense, but it does if you are a person like myself who analyzes everything in books, but didn’t have anything to analyze in this one.  It was just a perfect, short novel.  Kind of like the perfect summer read.  I was totally surprised with the end!  It was something unexpected.  I’m really excited about the next book!  Can’t wait!
